My next stop to Sun Temple Kandaha: After the journey to Tarasthan Mahishi my next stop was Kandaha Sun temple
which is in the way of Tarasthan. It is approximately 5 kms. Distance from
Mahishi.
I
got an auto rickshaw from Mahishi and arrived there within 15 minutes. The experience
of this journey was so cool. Because the climate and the environment of Kandaha
is really divine. Full
of peace, coldness in air, musical chirping of birds and like blessing of god
is with me. I look around and I feel everything are
in the meditation along with the temple.
Proud Part: The Sun Temple of Kandaha (Saharsa) is one on the unique Sun Temple in
all of Temples in India. This is an important and historical place which has
been duly recognized by the Archaeological Survey of India like Surya Mandir in
Dev of Aurangabad district.
Ancient History:During
12th century Narsimha Dev ruled on Mithila. He was the king of
Karnata. After few years of making of temple, Mughals take over ruled on
Mithila. The Mughal emperor Kalapahad tried to destroy the temple which was
however renovated by the famous saint poet Laxminath Gosai . This Sun temple is very important part of history.
Aproach: Kandaha Surya Mandir is situated in Pastwar
Panchayat of Mahishi Block. It is at nearly 16kms west from Saharsa district
headquarter. On the way to Tarasthan, Mahishi,

Taara Sthan Mahishi is
one of the historical place which valuable importance made a religious impact
on Mithila culture. Where the Hinduism boasts over lots of variety in itself,
Tara Sthan is one of them.
That was my life’s first journey to
Mahishi during Dashahra Puja. It’s distance about 16 kms. From Saharsa District headquarter
where an ancient temple of Bhagwati Tara is built. The idol of Bhagwati Tara is
said to be very old and draws devotees from far and . There are two smaller
deities which are worshipped by the people as Ekjata and Nil
Saraswati. This temple is very famous, it is always crowded here. Devotees come and wish blessings for
happiness and success for their life.
But one thing I saw there which will
always remember. As per the customs of
Hindu religion they committed oblation to their deities. And after getting
their desired inclination they make oblation during Dahshra Puja. I saw there
the campus of temple was full of blood-red of goat and buffalo sacrifice.
In the first look it never allow our
heart to be happen this cruel oblation of innocent animals. Today many organizations
and philanthropist who work for animals are working against oblation. Many of
the films made on this brutal activity to aware from Superstition. There is one of
the telefilm “Rakt Tilak” made on this custom by a local filmmaker. Rakt
Tilak is a awarded film in Australian film festival.
But
it has been a tradition there are the
belief in religion which always seen as the blessings of god. After all My journey was fantastic and remarkable.
Specially Mahishi is situated beside Koshi river the environment is so calm and
full of peace. The villagers is are Brahman Pandits are in majority.
